Our Team

  • Karen co-founded Pappas & Pappas in 1997 and is the driving force behind its success and extraordinary reputation. From 1992 to 1997, she was the Vice President of Strategic Outsourcing, a well-regarded human resources consulting and outplacement firm. Prior to that, Karen established and led an exclusive firm focused on professional placement in the Boston marketplace, as well as launched new branch offices and led turnaround operations in Boston and Washington, D.C. for a worldwide staffing firm.

    Currently a member of the Northeast Human Resources Association (NEHRA), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and The Boston Club, Karen is also a founding member of the Boston College Club. She is a former Board Member of The Wang Center for Performing Arts and the Boston Human Resources Association (BHRA), and former Co-Chair of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute Holiday Gift Program and Pan Mass Challenge (Jimmy Fund).

    Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from Boston College and, since 2007, has been involved in training and certification in Mind Body Medicine through the Harvard Medical School Department of Continuing Education. She is also an MBTI® Certified Practitioner.

  • As Managing Partner and co-founder, Dave oversees operations for the firm, including human resources, legal, marketing, payroll, facilities, and IT. He began his career as a local Technical Recruiter then moved into a leadership role for a major national technical placement agency, where he was consistently ranked as a top performer.

    Before starting Pappas & Pappas in 1997, Dave was an HR Consultant at PTC, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing technology companies. He successfully sourced and placed high-demand candidates in the areas of Professional Services, Software Development, Technical Support, Application Engineering, and Information Technology.

    Prior to his career in human resources, Dave attended Boston University and was an active duty member of the United States Marine Corps, where he held numerous leadership positions. Dave received multiple honors and awards as a Marine and non-combat veteran of the Persian Gulf War, including a National Defense Service Medal, Parris Island Honor Graduate, a Certificate of Commendation from his Commanding General, two Meritorious Promotions, and an Honorable Discharge.

  • A Senior Director of the firm, Trina has been with Pappas & Pappas since November of 2002. In her role, she works closely with clients and candidates to identify and place contract teams for HR & Training initiatives. Trina also supports recruiting efforts for direct HR placement and executive searches. Her reputation, earned through years of outstanding client servicing, gives Trina consistent repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals.

    Trina began her HR career as a Human Resources Representative with Howard H. Sweet & Son then joined the HR Contract division of Strategic Outsourcing in 1995. She remained with the company after its acquisition by Romac International/Kforce, receiving multiple awards, including the President’s Award.

    Trina attended Dean College and is very active in her community, holding elected positions on parent boards and serving on various committees, as well as giving her time to numerous benevolent programs and charities.
